Kings are in a bit of disarray right now. Coming to face Dhaka, the title contenders will be another debacle if the Kings don’t rectify some of their game plans.

The opening pair of Mominul and Junaid seems in shape, especially Mominul who is regularly getting runs and surviving through the fall of middle order even. What Junaid will have to be more proficient at hitting big hits when able and scoring singles and doubles continuously to keep the fielders on the edge. Kings have become dependent on the hitting ability of their icon Sabbir Rahman. Umar Akmal and Patel are reliable in the middle but Kings will expect much more from the bats of their captain Sammy. The lower order woes continues as not even once in these five matches, any top order batsman did justice to the Kings or to their batting abilities.

Darren Sammy said similar things for the media after practice,”We are not getting the results we need and we are much better team than that.We still believe we could make it through the play off. We will play against Dhaka tomorrow. They are the only team we beat in the competition. That is motivation for us. Everybody has to step up specially our overseas players. Sabbir is our leading batsman. He is scoring run for us. But cricket is a team sport and we cannot rely on one person.”

Kings have beaten Dhaka a few days earlier, and Dhaka’s last defeat against Khulna Titans should give the Kings some beacon of hope. We will expect our players to grind their teeth and seize the day against Dhaka again.
