It’s the same opponent and the same result and the same last over drama even! This was a great show of the Rajshahi Kings batting acumen as the Kings lost Junaid and  icon Sabbir Rahman early in the chase. It was a great chase. 183 was a larger total to chase against bowlers of the likes of Shakib Al Hasan, DJ Bravo and the current top wicket taker Mohammad Shahid. But Kings had the belief in themselves instilled in them.

The bowlers didn’t start great, Mehedi Maruf and Sangakkara were looking menacing as Dhaka quickly scored 80 runs off the first 10 overs with losing only one wicket. Mohammad Sami and Farhad Reza bowled wonderfully keeping it tight for the Dhaka batsmen but the other bowlers were not so lucky. Prasanna with a cameo at the end with Shakib took the total to 182.

But the Kings were not daunted by the total even after they lost their opener Junaid and Icon Sabbir within the powerplay overs. Mominul and Samit took the chase with calm and poise. They started taking singles and doubles and hitting boundaries at regular intervals. They scored 100 runs between them. Mominul provided great support as he scored 56 off 42 balls before falling at the 15th over. Patel was the man who dominated the pitch, hitting six 6s and fie 4s in the process of scoring 75. Akmal, Sammy and Raju added 20 between them and the rest of the batting had to score 9 runs off the last over. Finally it was Miraz who fired a boundary and won it for the Kings.

It was a great match to win and would be a huge confidence boost to the Kings squad. Kings will capitalize on this and hopefully gon on to win the throne too.
