The Kings were expected to win the second leg of the North Bengal derby. They just had won the first leg two days prior, Riders were a bit off color whereas Kings were soaring high. So it was legitimate that the fans of the Kings were expecting a win at the second leg to. But not anyone could have guessed the manner of how the win came to be at he Kings lap!

It was a disaster, any ardent Kings fan will have to admit. The Kings chose to bat first, the pitch looked good. It had some bounce for the seamers and some turn for the spinners but nothing too awkward. But at the 10 over mark Kings had lost 7 of their batsmen only for 43 runs! It was a real mess. It was a good thing that the Kings have most depth in their batting. After the fall of the seventh wicket of Sabbir Rahman, when all hopes seem lost to the faint hearted and pessimist fans, there came a pair of batsmen. Hugely experienced all rounder Farhad Reza and the junior most all rounder Mehedi Hasan Miraz. This pair calmed down and started getting runs, slow and steady. Afridi, Gazi, Sunny – they were unfazed by the big names and their bowling. They picked up the pace of runs with flurry of boundaries and over boundaries and ended their partnership unbeaten on 85 runs. Which is now the highest ever 8th wicket partnership in BPL history and also the 4th highest in all T20 history. They set the target to 129 for the riders, which now seemed a defendable total given the great bowling attack Kings had.

But what the Kings bowlers delivered were better than any fairy tale anding you have ever heard. Miraz and Apu with their right arm and left arm spins started hunting Riders batsmen. They got 5 wicket between them. At the mark of 10 overs, Riders were in tatters, they lost 6 batsmen to score 50 runs. But they had no Miraz and Farhad to stave off the bowling charges and the Kings had Raju. Raju with his deceptively concealed slower deliveries cleaned off the tail and Riders were bowled out for a mere 79! Kings won the match by 49 runs, a huge margin.

This is the fourth win in a row for the Kings. WIth this match they have completed all the matches with the table toppers. Kings have 3 matches to go and the opponents are bottom scrapers Barisal, Comilla and an upsurging Chittagong Vikings. But upsurging or not, Kings have proven that they can win a match from any situation and they will win these coming three matches, we do not doubt the Kings for a blink!
