Kings are in high spirits and so they should be. They just beaten the star studded Chittagong Vikings on their road to conquer BPL 2016. One might question what separates the Kings from the other BPL team? Well if you have seen them play you know it. It is their team spirit. Captain Sammy proves again and again why he is the leader who won two T20 world cups with his team. He is a natural leader. He is a guy who will lift your spirit anytime in any situation, even if you arr just a face in front of your TV set. When you see Sammy galloping towards Miraz to lift him from the grounds after a wicket, when you see him and Kesrick fooling around, selfie-brating – you can not but smile a bit. Yes, this teams know how to win matches with a smile on their face.
Kings are facing a familiar opponent in Khulna Titans. They have beaten the Titans once and almost beaten them except for the margin of 3 runs. This should not be a tough task for them unless they lose their nerves or some mishap occurs. Titan’s batting is pretty out of shape except for their captain Mahmudullah. Their spirits are low after they were humiliated in their last encounter against Dhaka. The trick is to send their captain home as early as possible. Kings bowling line ups are adept enough to accomplish that job. They have proven themselves worthy against fearsome opponents such as Tamim, Gayle, Smith, Malik, Nabi, Sangakkara, Bravo and what not.
Kings batting are a point of concern for now, especially their top order. Mominul should extend his innings a bi more as he failed to do so in their last 3 innings. Akmal might be a better and more experience batsman the Sohan but as a wicket keeper, Sohan is at the top of his game. The winning combination should not be changed as all the batsmen in the squad are in some kind of form. We have calm and cool in Mominul and Samit Patel. FIre and devastation in Sabbir, Sammy and Franklin. Even down the order we have experienced hand in Farhad Reza who now have proven himself match winner under pressure in two wins.
This match should be just in the hands of Kings, they just have to reach out and grab it. And they have to plan for the finals!
